Skilled Nursing
What is skilled nursing?
Skilled nursing refers to a type of healthcare service provided by trained and licensed healthcare professionals, such as registered nurses and licensed practical nurses.
Skilled nursing services typically include medical treatments and procedures that require the expertise of a licensed nurse, such as wound care, medication management, and monitoring of vital signs. Skilled nursing care can also include rehabilitation therapies such as physical, occupational, and speech therapy to help patients recover from an illness, injury, or surgery.
Skilled nursing can also provide long-term care for individuals who require ongoing medical supervision and assistance with activities of daily living. The goal of skilled nursing care is to help patients achieve their optimal level of health and independence, and to improve their quality of life.
